Overview
What to expect
My approach to couples therapy is grounded in the Gottman Method. This approach is dyadic, emotionally-focused, and skills-based, with the goal of helping partners learn to understand and support each other so effectively that they become their own couples therapists over time; I’m not here to play referee or to force anyone to fundamentally change who they are, but to help couples build tools they can use long after therapy ends.
"The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship." - Drs. John & Julie Gottman
Insurance
I do not accept insurance for couples therapy; however, I can provide a superbill upon request. Some insurance plans may reimburse a portion of the cost or apply sessions toward your deductible, but coverage varies widely, so I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to verify your specific benefits.
